Chappas\twrote and took this picture for SavannahNow 24 September 2008,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savannahnow.com\/intown\/2008-09-24\/tropical-garden-suburbia\">\r\nTropical garden in suburbia<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nTwenty citrus trees are scattered around the yard, including lemon,\r\nblood orange, tangelo, cara-cara orange, lime, grapefruit, tangerine\r\nand mandarin. A pumello plant, a citrus variety from Southeast Asia,\r\nhas a fruit the size of a basketball. Papaya and guava plants grow\r\ntall against the back of the house. Pineapple and coffee plants grow\r\nin the ground and in large pots.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote><!--more-->\r\n<p>\r\nHere&#8217;s her speaker bio for the conference:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nMarj Schneider has been growing citrus in her Savannah backyard for\r\nthe past 10 years. With help from experts and experience over the\r\nyears, she and her husband, Don Moss, have learned about the needs\r\nand habits of these glorious fruiting trees. She is an unreformed\r\nCitruholic with over 25 trees, some in pots and many in the ground.\r\nThe trees share the yard with banana and berry plants, as well as\r\nplots and beds occupied year-round with vegetables.
