\nThis is an ordinary 4 inch perforated drain pipe, bought at North Lowndes Hardware. It needs to go through that dam I’m standing on.\nHow do you do that?\nFirst remove a bunch of sticks (gloves are useful for this):\n\n\n

\n<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/object>\n

\nNormally the dogs love to dig, but this time not so much.\n

\n\"Dredging\"<\/a>\nThen, dredge upstream.\nDon’t let Gretchen fool you by taking all the pictures;\nshe was dredging and digging downstream.\n

\n\"Deeper\"<\/a>\nEventually you get a trench.\nThis will become harder once the water starts running through.\nSo, what do to?\n

\nThe dam goes a long way:\n

\nHere the beavers have supplied a convenient pry pole:\n

\n<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/object>\n

\nThat made a big gap and Gretchen dredged it to make a good flow.\n

\n\"Water<\/a>\n

\n\"Hidden<\/a>\nMeanwhile, we planted the pipe and covered it with sticks and mud,\nlike the beavers do.\n

\nIf the beavers think our rebuilding efforts are too messy, they can fill in for us.\nMeanwhile the pipe will keep the pond drained:\n
