The company\nhas provided access to &ldquo;millions of pages of documents&rdquo; as it\ncooperates with inquiries into its business and the industry.\n<\/blockquote>\nAfter Monsanto&#8217;s stock price fell, analysts tried to put a good spin on this:\n<blockquote>\nThe department&#8217;s focus on Roundup Ready soybeans &ldquo;likely indicates no\nDOJ interest in the remainder of Monsanto&rdquo; operations, Vincent Andrews,\na New York-based analyst at Morgan Stanley, said today in a report. He\nrates the shares &ldquo;overweight.&ldquo;\n<\/blockquote>\nHe wishes.\n<p>\nMeanwhile, it&#8217;s not just DoJ:\n\n<!--more-->\n<blockquote>\nThe U.S. Justice Department will hold a March workshop on crop-seed\ncompetition. The department made informal inquiries last year into\nallegations from DuPont Co., the second-biggest seed maker, that Monsanto\nunfairly uses genetic licenses to dominate the engineered seed market,\nMonsanto said last year.\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nAnd it&#8217;s not just big business that&#8217;s affected:\n<blockquote>\nMonsanto has begun switching growers to its more expensive Roundup\nReady 2 Yield product, predicting the seeds will boost soybean output\n7 percent. Roundup Ready 2 seeds will be stacked with new traits, such\nas healthier oils, that won&#8217;t be offered on the original, Grant said\nlast week.\n<\/blockquote>\nNote the language: &#8220;begun switching growers&#8221;.
