It gives you the ability to make informed\r\ndecisions about what to eat and how to spend your money.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nWouldn&#8217;t it be nice to understand what exactly you are putting in\r\nyour mouth? The language used in growing food, getting it certified\r\nand to market, processing raw commodities, labeling the processed\r\nproducts and getting them sold is foreign to most consumers but you\r\ncan change that. You can learn the language of food.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThis introductory class will cover basic food production,\r\ncertification and labeling vocabulary providing you with a better\r\nunderstanding of what you are buying, eating and feeding your loved\r\nones.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nWho should attend:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nThis is a class for people who want to understand the information\r\nconveyed by food labels in regard to both sourcing and ingredients.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nBio:<!--more-->\r\n\r\n\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nA writer and ethical food advocate, Katy Rogers is also a wife,\r\nmother and homesteader. Formally educated at a large midwestern\r\nuniversity and an obsessive autodidact, she left conventional\r\nagriculture and politics to devote herself to the health of her\r\nfamily and community.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nNow, as a family, they grow much of their food, free of added\r\ntoxins, and strive to eat clean, local and seasonally.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nKaty&#8217;s goal is to help people get off the standard American diet and\r\nbecome cognizant eaters. Education about real, clean food is the\r\nfocus of her work.
