\r\nIt broke off the end of one roof truss.\r\nBut the main truss and the plate it is sitting on are undamaged.\r\nSo it’s fixable, and not so bad meanwhile.\r\n\r\n\r\n
\r\n\r\n \r\nHere’s the tree that did it.\r\nAnd many of the grapevines and greenbriars (Smilax<\/em>)\r\nthat were the reason for cutting it down.\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\nWe have to have a firebreak around the tractor shed,\r\nespecially with all the deadfall from Hurricane Helene\r\nready to flare up when we burn the woods this winter.\r\nThe vines on this tree were so thick the only way I could get them down\r\nwas to take the tree down.\r\nIt had already had all its tallest limbs and trunk broken off by the hurricane.\r\n \r\nThere were far more vines; I mowed most of them up with the tractor mower\r\nafter I used a logging chain to pull them and those pieces of the tree away from the tractor shed.\r\n \r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Oops.
