\nI got a replacement part and cut below the break.<\/p>\n
\n \nWell, that did not work, as you can see by the glue pushed down unevenly.<\/p>\n \n \nThe end was not round. \nNope, still wouldn’t fit.<\/p>\n \n \nFinally I noticed a foot-long blister on one side.<\/p>\n \nSo I got the cutting tool again. \n \nOK, that end is round.<\/p>\n \nAfter five round-trips, which plus a few side excursions means \nSteps are good, but the moral is: \n \nHere’s the fixed spigot, with banana-colored Blondie dog for scale.<\/p>\n \nI’m leaving those and many other deadfalls for the lumber salvage to get. \n \nAnd yes, it holds water this morning.<\/p>\n \n -jsq<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hurricane Helene, or maybe the ice storm after, broke off a woods spigot. \nIt’s 1,000 feet round trip to the workshop and back.<\/p>\n
