Someone named Alvin Smith has invented
a simple buoy-driven pump to push water uphill from the sea. From there it can flow downhill through turbines to generate power when needed. We don’t have any cliffs on the Georgia coast, but I suppose we could build water towers. More efficient, dependable, and shorter than wind turbines.
